There may be an mass air move (MAF) sensor and a throttle position sensor (TPS) that can fail and cause related working circumstances, but they're more expensive than a shot of solvent. A vacuum leak can cause this, so don’t exchange the idle control motor till you’ve evaluated the potential of a vacuum leak.
